There is no baseball stadium in the world that has seen more
action than the one in the Bronx. Yankee Stadium, also known
as, "The house that Ruth built" attracts more than
three million Yankee fans per year and was the first baseball
venue to be labeled a "Stadium".

Yankee Stadium Facts
Opening night for Yankee stadium took place April 18, 1923.
With construction costs at $2.5 million dollars, the most
historic of all baseball stadiums is also one of least expensive.
The stadium did go under $48 million dollar renovations in
1973 and was closed until 1976.
When the stadium was completed, baseball fans boasted many
of it's modern features, including an unheard of number of
restrooms which totaled eight for men and many more for women.
Today the total number of restrooms is more than 50.
Yankee stadium was the stadium to feature a The first ever
"JumboTron" then is was called a "Telescreen".
It was a large screen in which could show instant replays
in nine shades of gray.
In the 1920's Yankee Stadium could hold an astonishing 82,000
baseball fans! Many renovations later the stadium's capacity
is now just over 57,000.
Along with baseball, Yankee stadium has been witness to many
other events including championship boxing, football, and
religious conventions. Yankee Stadium is the only stadium
that can say it has hosted The Pope, Muhammad Ali and Babe
Ruth and NFL Football.
